Hotel Mongibello Ibiza – an Ibizan hotel transformed into the Italy of the 60s
Concept Hotel Group takes over the Don Carlos hotel in Ibiza to give a new change to the Italian style with the new Mongibello hotel in Ibiza.
Renovated inside and out, the Palladium Don Carlos hotel changes owners and name to become the brand new Hotel Mongibello in Ibiza, operated by the famous Concept Hotel Group.
The hotel acquired by the joint venture of Bain Capital and Stoneweg a year ago, will undergo a renovation in February 2022 before receiving the first guests of the Ibiza 2023 season.
Concept Hotel Group and its love for the island
Currently, the large hotel company manages seven hotels on the island and each of them designed with a lot of love. We are talking about Santos, Tropicana, Dorado, Cubanito, Paradiso, Romeo’s and Grand Paradiso.
Concept Hotel Group opens in the Santa Eulalia area with a destination hotel that will give the magic of the Italian Dolce Vita in its most Mediterranean version.
Design of the Mongibello
The architecture and design of Mongibello has been entrusted to the Spanish architecture studio ILMIOdesign, which will be based on the inspiration of the Amafitana Coast with a shirtless touch and linked to the white island.
One of the inspirations of the firm has been to place Public Relations Carlos Martorell to select and honor 32 experts in the art of living in the 32 suites that the hotel will have, where you can appreciate illustrations by the famous Ibizan artist Marcos Torres who pay homage to beloved celebrities on the island such as Tony Pike, Ángel Nieto, among others.
Something remarkable is that the hotel will have a secret room that will bear the name of Lola’s in honor of the famous and mythical Ibiza nightclub from the 60s and 70s.

Mongibello gets its name from the fictitious town where the plot of Mr. Ripley’s Talent by Patricia Highsmith takes place, it will have the collaboration of a great international brand specializing in cocktails.
As if that were not enough, the hotel has the Signature restaurant that has direct access to the beach, a new brand from the creators of Silencio, Silencio de París and El Silencio Ibiza, the Cala Molí beach club that focuses on the gastronomy of the Ibiza island.
The Concept hotel company always wants to break barriers in the aesthetics and design of its hotels, Mongibello will be no less with classic cars and the jukebox from the 60s in the lobby.
In addition, an Alfa Romeo Spider at the entrance, an Italian baroque-style fountain with a testa di moro, a gazebo to orchestrate weddings, acoustics and photo sessions with lemon cart details to enjoy a fresh lemonade after enjoying the beach in Es Caló de s’Alga.
Part of the design is thanks to the collaboration of Casa Maricruz, who will be in charge of dressing the hotel’s message and the designer Sergio Prieto, who will be inspired by an aesthetic in Ettore Sottsass for the rooms.
The new Mongibello hotel will be a seducer of the Mediterranean Sea in a very privileged place near the Santa Eulalia promenade.
